Flames PressDate: Feb 06, 2010 Flames Streak Stopped
On Saturday, February 6 the Quad City Jr. Flames (21-17-0-3) hit the road for their second longest road trip of the year for consecutive games against the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks (31-7-0-1). The Lumberjacks successfully stopped the Flames record win streak at 10 straight games after a 2-1 Cleveland win. The Jacks scored a late go ahead goal at the end of the third to finish off the Flames. Cleveland didn't waste time scoring early in the game. At :34 seconds of the first period Adam Chapie recieved a pass from Matthew Berger, and fired the puck past David Jacobson for his 25 goal of the season. Scoring remained quiet until the beginning of the second frame. Scott Eberline scored his seventh goal of the year after beating Michael Musialowski. Conrad Bernard added the lone assist. Both squads defensive units held strong until late in the third period. A scramble in front of the Quad City net produced a rebound for Daniel Sayer who put the puck over a sprawling David Jacobson. The goal was Sayer's third from Votaw and Vincent Buttitta. The Flames pulled their goaltender in the last minute of the final period, but were unable to notch the game at two.
