FIRE FACTS Can't Cool the Fires! The Quad City Jr. Flames are currently on a six game win streak. This past weekend the Jr. Flames also completed their second consecutive weekend sweep. The Jr. Flames headed back to Quad City from Michigan Sunday night with a victory over Motor City and two over Metro. Are We Home Yet? On Friday, January 22 the Quad City Jr. Flames will finally conclude a four game road stretch against the Peoria Mustangs. During the road trip Quad City aquired wins from Motor City, and Metro. Too Hot to Handle Keegan Kavanaugh continued his offensive streak this past weekend in Michigan. Kavanaugh is on a three game point streak (3-5-8). He has contributed ten points (3-7-10) during the Flames six game roll. Kavanaugh has been hot in his last ten games (4-12-16). Spreading Fire During the Flames six game win streak Andy Amendola (4-3-7), Paul Manderfield (3-4-7), Devin Holmes (2-5-7), Scott Eberline (1-5-6), and Josh Prygon (4-2-6) have been main contributors to the Flames offense. Stopping Pucks Eric Moeller earned two wins this past weekend, and has been victorious in his past three starts. Eric is now 3-4-0 on the season. In his past two victories Moeller has stopped 45 of 48 shots. David Jacobson also earned his fourteenth win of the year on Saturday, January 16 against Metro. Jacobson is first in the league in minutes played, and tied for fifth in goaltender wins. SCOUTING REPORT Peoria Mustangs (7-24-2-0) The Peoria Mustangs continue to struggle this season, but have climbed up from the bottom place in the CSHL standings to the eleventh position. The Mustangs are currently on a two game skid after dropping consecutive games to Queen City in Ohio. The Mustangs are lead in points by Timothy Prinz (17-11-28) and Charlie Vasseur (11-17-18). Quad City is 2-0-0-1 against the Mustangs this season. Flint Jr. Generals (13-22-1-0) Flint is facing a tough month of January with consecutive weekends against St. Louis and Dubuque. Flint has been blown out in their previous two games by finals of 10-3 against St. Louis. The Generals are on a three game skid after a game to Quad City, and two games to St. Louis. The Generals are lead in points by Drew Meyers (22-35-57), tied sixth in the league, and Nathan Scurfield (14-29-43). Quad City will catch Flint on the tail end of a three game weekend. Flint plays Dubuque on Friday and Saturday in Dubuque. The Jr. Flames are 1-1-0-1 against Flint the season, and Sunday will be the third time in January the two squads have faced off.
